Location

Ledmore is at the bottom end of Loch Frisa, a six mile long secluded loch in the north part of the Isle of Mull, which is half way up the west coast of Scotland.

The house is three miles up a Forestry Commission road which is not tarmaced. The odd pothole has to be dodged, but that all adds to the adventure of arriving at somewhere so secluded!

The House

Ledmore is an attractive looking traditional farmhouse built originally as a sporting lodge for the Aros Castle Estate. It had a complete overhaul when the owner originally bought it, with much since repainted, making for a clean, cheerful and comfortable interior. The kitchen in particular is very large, airy and well equipped.

There is accommodation for four people in two twin bedrooms, but if required there is space for an extra child in the larger bedroom using the temporary bed provided. There is an adjoining bathroom and a separate shower room.

For more details of the rooms go to our Accommodation page and for more pictures our gallery.

Chill out. Swap social media, TV, emails and mobile phones for some peace and comfort in truly beautiful rural surroundings. Not having TV, radio or mobile phone signals in the house will help any children (and perhaps you as well) to develop interests in nature and to hone ball skills in the barn, or start reading, cycling or going for walks again. Also enjoy all the activities that the Island offers, including trips to spot Sea Eagles and puffins, or whales, sharks and dolphins. Bring some good books or board games to supplement the ones we provide. Soon you will wonder why you haven't done all this before!

If you really have to keep in touch with the outside world, set your mobile to use wifi calling and it should work as normal within the house. Our 4G router wifi will usually handle calls, emails and web browsing. Our DVD player and Roku Streambar allow you to stream music via bluetooth and also to watch Disney+ and Youtube. If you have the relevant subscriptions, you can also use services like Netflix, Amazon Prime etc and catch up services like iPlayer
